History

Originally three small cottages, standing on a crossroad, built in the late 1700's and  converted to an inn in the 1860's by Bruttons Brewery Yeovil. Bruttons were acquired by Charrington Bass who auctioned off the inn in 1975 when it became a Free House.

Melbury Osmond

Melbury Osmond is a beautiful Dorset village listed in the Doomsday Book 1086 as 'Melesberie'. It is also Thomas Hardy's Wessex village of 'Hintock', Kings Hintock' and 'Great Hintock' and little known home of the 'Dorset Ooser'.
